Why does this move us so?

Earlier today I stop by to ask my excellent fellow minister Shannon Rutherford if she has a book I am looking for. (Nope.) She is relaxing for a minute with her dear kitten Spirit on her lap. She is looking at something on YouTube. “A friend of mine sent this to me.” She plays it. I think “oh dear – another poor fellow singing dreadfully on television and being humiliated by the judges.” As far as a quasar dimly viewed by the largest telescope is from our humble Solar System – so far was my expectation from what I saw. It was one of the most astonishing things I have heard or seen in some time.

Why does this move us so? Why – after just 2 minutes of listening to this young Welshman sing – does the crowd leap to its feet, cheer, and wipe away tears? More is coming…

Welcome to Live the Trinity – the personal website of Richard M. Wright. Here I will post:

If the content and appearance of this website reflects my lack of experience or creativity – bear with me. I am new to this. But I hope you find things here that you find interesting and are worth talking about.

I have experimented with various web applications for building dynamic database driven websites. All have different strengths and weaknesses. For the purpose of my own website I have settled on (drum roll please) WordPress. It is indeed simple. There are some things that need to be changed or added. But overall I have been profoundly impressed.
