New Disqus Comments plugin
In a nutshell I want people to be able to leave comments without me having to "approve" them - they appear immediately. But I also want to keep out spam. The anti-spam module for some reason was marking all comments - including my own - as spam. I have since added the Disqus plugin which hopefully will allow anyone with a free Disqus account to be able to leave comments that appear immediately. So far it appears to be working nicely.-

Why Obama may have won last night
I still plan to vote against Sen Obama. Just for the record. But my impression of the debate last night at Belmont College is that Sen Obama truly won and may have sealed the deal. Sen McCain came across as … Continue reading
In Atlanta for Catalyst Conference
I am in (or rather outside) Atlanta for the Catalyst 2008 Conference. Got a great deal on a room at Marriott Courtyard in Norcross. Best room I have stayed in at a conference in years. King size bed, large, clean, … Continue reading
Ernie Davis, Elmira, and my dad
That weird drinking glass we had on a table in the basement of our house in Massachusetts. For years I wondered who was this “Ernie Davis” whose picture was on a glass we never drank from. The way the picture … Continue reading
NPR's Terry Gross with Presiding Bishop Jefferts-Schori: The Great Interviewer fails
If I think National Public Radio is so liberal and biased why then do I listen to it almost exclusively? Good question. Usually I have an answer but not today. (Scratch that. The answer is that NPR provides so much … Continue reading

Nat Hentoff – Why he is voting… for Biden
Nat Hentoff is another principled “liberal” whom I respect. (And yes dear reader there are such things as unprincipled conservatives.) He is particularly passionate about the Constitution, civil liberties, and free speech. (One thing that marks him as unusual is … Continue reading
