New Disqus Comments plugin
In a nutshell I want people to be able to leave comments without me having to "approve" them - they appear immediately. But I also want to keep out spam. The anti-spam module for some reason was marking all comments - including my own - as spam. I have since added the Disqus plugin which hopefully will allow anyone with a free Disqus account to be able to leave comments that appear immediately. So far it appears to be working nicely.-

The administration's plan to crush Louisiana economically
Well sort of. I only recently realized the possible significance of the current administration’s proposed budget. With its $30 billion in new taxes on the oil and gas industry. Now tell me. Which states would this affect the most? In … Continue reading

In the church the one and the many are not in conflict
I was struck a few weeks ago by this what Vladimir Lossky wrote in the chapter “Two Aspects of the Church” in his book The Mystical Theology of the Eastern Church: This [the Church or Christian society] is the only … Continue reading

Jim Cramer exposes the hypocrisy of "insider insight"
Jim Cramer is a liberal Democrat. Always has been and still is. That makes him an “insider” right? (I will come back to this.) So what happens when he just can’t take it any more and roundly criticizes how Team … Continue reading

Betwixt the Scylla of liberalism and the Charybdis of conservatism
The title is deliberately provocative. The last two years I have been experiencing increasingly a silent and surprising shift. For the last 14+ years I have identified with – how can one put this? – the not-so-conservative wing of the … Continue reading

Charles Krauthammer – "Fixing" the economy is not Obama's agenda (or) The big bait-and-switch
One of Charles Krauthammer’s more masterful pieces. I have thought (and on one forum argued) that all the things President Obama is doing and proposing are not about the economy. Not really. Let me chase a bunny rabbit here for … Continue reading
Liberal fixation on Rush Limbaugh (or) Your concern for the opposition is touching – not!
I have not listened to Rush Limbaugh on the radio in about 15+ years. During this time I assumed his audience was dwindling. He was getting older. That addiction to pain killers thing. Where was the fellow anyways? But since … Continue reading
