New Disqus Comments plugin
In a nutshell I want people to be able to leave comments without me having to "approve" them - they appear immediately. But I also want to keep out spam. The anti-spam module for some reason was marking all comments - including my own - as spam. I have since added the Disqus plugin which hopefully will allow anyone with a free Disqus account to be able to leave comments that appear immediately. So far it appears to be working nicely.-

Romanticism, Marxism, Liberal Protestantism, Modernism (found this one hard … Continue reading

For the welfare of this holy church of God and of his servant
I ask you please to pray for University Baptist Church. Yesterday morning the senior pastor announced his resignation. He is not moving to another congregation. It was rather a shock. I cannot say a complete surprise because he has faced … Continue reading

Those who "sleep" (or) Moebius syllogism?
A turning point(?) in my theological understanding of death was when during Introduction to Christian Mission my fine professor Isam Ballenger rather strongly state “the Christian faith does not teach the immortality of the soul – it teaches resurrection of … Continue reading

A blog worth reading – Opinionated Catholic
And not just because he reads Live the Trinity and sometimes links here. What I appreciate about Opinionated Catholic (who lives somewhere in rural southeast[?] Louisiana) is how “fair minded” he is. He tries to understand the “other side” (not … Continue reading

Excellent speech by President Obama – seriously
Ah yes the controversial address to the schoolchildren of America by President Barack Obama on September 9. Yes we can complain legitimately about the “teaching materials” that the Department of Education first planned to use – and then did not. … Continue reading
In praise of honest liberals(?) – Camille Paglia strikes again
She voted for President Obama. Wants to see healthcare reform go through. But she has no patience for hypocrisy and stupidity. Camille Paglia is a liberal(?) I can respect. (I put ? after “liberal” because what does that word mean … Continue reading

Has "women in ministry" become central dogma?
I could get in serious trouble for this. Let me begin by reminding people that: I married my campus minister (and she hates that I keep saying that – sounds like she was some sort of stalker or predator who … Continue reading
