Comment Moderation
I want people to be able to post comments that appear immediately without having to be approved. But I also want to keep out spam and the anti-spam features interfere with the comment system. For some reason all comments - including mine! - go straight to a spam list. Then I must mark them as "not spam". Then they must be "approved". That is not how this website is supposed to work and I apologize for the inconvenience.-

REVIEW – "Up"
I thought “The Incredibles” was simply the most perfect brilliant film Pixar has produced. Somehow they managed to move the bar even higher. Or should we say deeper. I thought it was exceptional. Alternating between touching and funny, exhiliterating and … Continue reading

REVIEW – "Terminator Salvation"
In a nutshell – I thought it was much better than the mediocre or even negative reviews led me to expect. I read enjoy and respect Big Hollywood. John Nolte was not kind to “Terminator Salvation”. What a crushing and … Continue reading

REVIEW – "Star Trek"

American troops give early buzz on "Star Trek"
The director and cast of the forthcoming “Star Trek” movie graciously traveled to and visited with American troops serving in Kuwait. The troops were given the opportunity – in fact two opprtunities – to watch a “special premier” of the … Continue reading
"Space is disease and danger wrapped in…"
I thought this was hysterical. Oh and “Rohan has no king”.

REVIEW – disillusionment and unconditional love in "Marley and Me"
(This is not a good poster for this particular movie.) A Wright family tradition is to see a movie on certain holidays especially New Year’s Day. Frankly the selection is pretty poor right now and my kids had already seen … Continue reading

REVIEW – "Yes Man" and a theology of providence (or saying-yes-to-God)
Was Jesus a “yes man”? Two weekends ago two friends said they would watch our children while my wife and I went out for the evening. We chose to see “Yes Man” with Jim Carrey and Zooey Deschanel at a … Continue reading

When we were in New York visiting my mom we went to see a movie with my brother and his family. It was the first time he had seen the preview for the next (now) Bond film. When he saw … Continue reading
