New Disqus Comments plugin
In a nutshell I want people to be able to leave comments without me having to "approve" them - they appear immediately. But I also want to keep out spam. The anti-spam module for some reason was marking all comments - including my own - as spam. I have since added the Disqus plugin which hopefully will allow anyone with a free Disqus account to be able to leave comments that appear immediately. So far it appears to be working nicely.-

REVIEW – “Armida” by Gioachino Rossini
The fanciful story of the sorceress who enthralls men in her island prison of sensual delights. That is pretty much all I knew about the opera “Armida” by Gioachino Rossini. Sounds like fun! Echoes of The Tempest by William Shakespeare … Continue reading

Metropolitan Opera's performance of "Carmen" by Bizet (or) What *is* Carmen?
Last time took eight to see “Turandot” by Puccini. Fairly full theater. People came up to us with tears in their eyes (I am not making that up) to express how much they appreciate young people coming to see the … Continue reading

Why have *you* not been to a Met Live (opera) broadcast?
We were blown away. So much that we forgot completely that we had missed the first half hour. When I looked up the time for the live broadcast of “Turandot” by the Metropolitan Opera it said “1:00 p.m.” So I … Continue reading
Metropolitan Opera performance of "Tosca" and blasphemy – confirmation please
H/T Opinionated Catholic. I discovered (that is came to appreciate and enjoy deeply) opera about 1 1/2 years ago. My daughter and I attended a simulcast of the Metropolitan Opera’s performance of “La Cenerentola” by Rossini last year and we … Continue reading
