Comment Moderation
I want people to be able to post comments that appear immediately without having to be approved. But I also want to keep out spam and the anti-spam features interfere with the comment system. For some reason all comments - including mine! - go straight to a spam list. Then I must mark them as "not spam". Then they must be "approved". That is not how this website is supposed to work and I apologize for the inconvenience.-

In response to my Baptist friends
Oh dear. There is something just wrong about saying “I am not participating in this particular forum any more” and then responding to comments which recently have appeared on that forum. It is like those celebrities or politicians who “respond” … Continue reading
'Twould appear conservative lesbians are more common than leprechauns
I stand corrected. Very corrected. Several weeks ago I wrote a short post expressing appreciation for gay conservatives. What I did not write but was thinking was “so why can one find gay conservatives but apparently not conservative lesbians?” Well … Continue reading

Extremely funny comic for the few computer geeks who will get it
Was perusing my latest issue of LINUX Journal – to which I subscribe so should you! – and came across this cartoon. Some computer geeks will get it. I thought it very funny and laughed out loud.

American troops give early buzz on "Star Trek"

And now truth and common sense
I hope my excellent friend and brother J_ forgives me for quoting without express permission but I thought he summarized well the current mess in a recent post at BaptistLife.Com. What is even more interesting is how all of these … Continue reading

Thinking about (not) switching to Mac
The parish in which I serve is – like most organizations – a Microsoft shop. And my family receives a little extra income because I provide part-time information technology support. Over the past few years we have made significant progress … Continue reading

For the record – where I plot politically
Hey remember this post? Where I stand politically With the accompanying graph: That was in June 2008. Some might think I am uber-conservative but do notice that – at least according to this measurement tool – I am smack bang … Continue reading

The Presiding Bishop is not entirely wrong about everything
Pentheus. Pharaoh. Oven Mitt. Balrog. These are some of the unflattering and not terribly respectful comparisons and epithets I have used to describe Katharine Jefferts-Schori the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church. (Okay – not balrog. I love Tolkien too … Continue reading
