New Disqus Comments plugin
In a nutshell I want people to be able to leave comments without me having to "approve" them - they appear immediately. But I also want to keep out spam. The anti-spam module for some reason was marking all comments - including my own - as spam. I have since added the Disqus plugin which hopefully will allow anyone with a free Disqus account to be able to leave comments that appear immediately. So far it appears to be working nicely.-

For me but not for thee, racist phone messages (or) Afternoon coffee
That the left would invest so much time and energy to portray opposition to the current administration and Congressional leadership as motivated by racism – thereby prompting said opposition to waste time and energy responding to these portrayals – is … Continue reading

“You shall not bear false witness” (or) Misrepresenting opponents of statism
*Important Update* Associated Press has published an article challenging strongly some of the evidence and arguments advanced to refute claims the N-word was used against members of the Congressional Black Caucus. If the article is correct this is deeply troubling … Continue reading

E J Dionne (almost) gets “conservatism”
Fairness requires that when liberals say or do something praiseworthy we give them credit. Have never been a big fan of E J Dionne who writes for the Washington Post and often appears alongside David Brooks on National Public Radio. … Continue reading

Cars houses and life itself (or) Bad arguments in defense of the health care bill
Like an idiot had the car audio set to “radio” rather than “aux”. So caught 3 minutes of Jim Engster on National Public Radio. *Sigh* Discussing attempts to challenge the new health care legislation – legislation? that itself merits discussion … Continue reading

The insulting incoherence of the “blame the media” argument
A high school classmate (great guy by the way) with whom I reconnected via facebook wrote: [I am] shocked that so few people have any real understanding of the healthcare bill other than what they get from the media. The … Continue reading

Why the Episcopal Church obsession over property?
A recent development in the ongoing disintegration of the Episcopal Church prompted me to address something that has been on my mind for a few years. Quick summary. Problems in the Episcopal Church. Largely disagreements over faith and practice. More … Continue reading

Spare us the lame and contradictory (liberal) excuses!
[This new version of WordPress the "insert media" function does not work. Sorry no illustrations until that gets fixed.] Man – National Review Online was just swimming with powerful articles this morning. Where to start? Charles Krauthammer on whether America … Continue reading

Charles Krauthammer on election of Scott Brown (or) "It couldn't have anything to do with his platform!"
What astonishes me about the election of Scott Brown to the United States Senate – from Massachusetts of all states that Democratic stronghold – is the lengths to which the left (aka “liberals” although a case can be made that … Continue reading

The politics of salvation (or) "You are not merely wrong but evil"
A post about overheated rhetoric against “conservatives”. Link to a new post at Gay Patriot about “Why Do Some on Left Demonize Dissent”? A comment to that post by the author of the exceptional essay “Hayekian ignorance as cognitive affront” … Continue reading

Hillbuzz – "Thank you President and Mrs Bush"
**I have no photo to post or link of George and Laura Bush visiting the families at Fort Hood – because they did not want press coverage. Think about that.*** First – although I voted for President Bush toward the … Continue reading
