New Disqus Comments plugin
In a nutshell I want people to be able to leave comments without me having to "approve" them - they appear immediately. But I also want to keep out spam. The anti-spam module for some reason was marking all comments - including my own - as spam. I have since added the Disqus plugin which hopefully will allow anyone with a free Disqus account to be able to leave comments that appear immediately. So far it appears to be working nicely.-

Smaller government and why entropy does not disprove evolutionary theory
Came across a Los Angeles Times article criticizing a Tea Party coloring book for kids. Fair enough. More interesting are the comments. Most take issue with the criticisms. Only a few take issue with the Tea Party movement and/or the … Continue reading

(Yes I know this website is supposed to get away from politics. But this is huge. And deserves more attention that it will receive in the American media.) Or is it the other way around? As Kenya so America? Most … Continue reading
Meanwhile we miss the *real* story about the government versus the Gulf Coast
Opinionated Catholic asks why leftists and liberals aka “liberals” and “conservatives” are so obsessed with the complex of stories revolving around NAACP/Tea Party/Fox News/Shirley Sherrod/Obama administration. When there are far more important issues at hand. How much will these stories … Continue reading

What the furor over Shirley Sherrod reveals about *us* (or) Snow falling on cedars
(Ed – Edited and shortened original version of this post.) I have not posted about (former) agricultural official Shirley Sherrod because frankly am mighty tired of talking about “race”. And boy are we talking about it a lot since 2008. … Continue reading
